Week 1 & 2

Greetings everyone !

Based on my first class, I got to learn about Research Methodology and its various concepts and philosophies underlying the academic research in the field of education.

This course is specifically for us, students' to develop our understanding with emphasis to aspects such as the identification of the research problem, formulating research objectives and research questions. It also involves aspects such as research strategies, research design, data collection and data interpretation techniques.

Why we must do a scientific research?

Scientific research is another way of obtaining information. It is more accurate and provide reliable knowledge. This type of procedure is public since scientific research uses explicit, codified, and public methods to generate and analyse data whose reliability can therefore be assessed and hence it can be replicated.

In order for us to set a tittle for our research, we must have a problem statement. Whenever we have a research problem, we should also have research questions. But before we set a research problem, we must have research objectives that we need to achieve.

Remember, objective and research is related !

When we have research questions, we must ask our self is the questions important? Is it researchable? And is it measurable?

At the end of the class, Dr Teoh asked us to think about our research proposal. What we plan to do for our project. Well, in my case, I still think about it. Should I do a thesis or a product based? Oh my god ! Help me !

That's all for this post, thanks !
